Monastery
The monastery was founded by María de Luna, wife of Martin the Humane, as a result of the pacification of Sicily. This included the donation of land Jaumet de Poblet, Guillem Pere Català widow, lord of Gilet, who inherited the property along with his daughter Joan, confirming the grant of Pope Benedict XIII in 1403.
All property which belonged to the donation Toliu occupied the valley.

King Ferdinand requested the transfer of the Trinitarian convent, accessing the desire to Sister Isabel de Villena, but this was never consummated and the monastery remained abandoned until 1491.
Sometimes also used to work defensive, as in the sixteenth century when a tower was built next to the monastery to defend against pirate raids.
In 1679 came his dedication to the Father Antonio Limaz for you to become the school of missions, as its first keeper Miguel Melchor Ferragut the Spaniard.
In 1692 was inaugurated in the Church today, after years of neglect.

During the war of independence, the monks left the monastery became a field hospital.
In 1813 and again in the friars and the confiscation, the vast pine forests passed into the hands of the state.
In 1835, the brothers return to leave the convent, occupied again in 1878 declaring mission school for the Holy Land and Morocco in 1889 under the patronage of the royal crown.
Parentheses after the Civil War, took glory with the assistance of a large number of novices, but now has lost its school.
It is now a museum with interesting books and documents, although it should be noted that basically, is today a place of recreation and relaxation.
