GILET TOWER
As indicated by a tile on the facade, the building of the tower was completed in 1580. In principle, it is believed that it was used as a watchtower because of raids by pirates and Moors groups that landed to plunder the villages near the nuclei near the coast.
It is rectangular and is about 25 meters in height, without devastating masonry reinforcements rodeno well carved in the corners. It has three distinct bodies, with walls of different thickness as it narrows as it advances in height to provide greater stability to the whole building.
The first body or base, truncated pyramid shaped and adapted to the natural slope. The second, 15 meters in height and prism-shaped 8 x 6 meters. It is the main block of the tower and found it covered all three floors.
The third body was in very deteriorated condition before rehabilitation, and he was a defensive gallery, being wider than the second block and being supported by 32 modules.
The tower was restored during the years 1992-93, and was respected within the three-story structure originally had and covering the third block corresponding to the initial defensive gallery.
